Tbilisi (1/9) / The City of Hot
Springs
In Abanotubani, the bath district, the oldest part of Tbilisi. The
round domes in front are the roofs of hot spring sulpher baths that
still operate. The name of the city refers to this hot springs,
as "tbili" means "warm". Though Georgia is a
Christian country, Tbilisi contains people of various faiths: The
tall brick tower in the middle is a Sunni Mosque and a Synagogue
is right near by. On the top right is the city's fortress that dates
back to 4th century.
